This biologist-led snowshoe walk takes you into the ancient woods along lakes and mystic mires in Inari. The forest you see is part of the oldest forests in Lapland. You walk among centuries-old trees and follow the tracks of boreal wildlife. By mid-February or early March, we start looking for the first Pine Grosbeaks to return. After the walk, you enjoy an open-fire hot drink and local homemade snacks in our wooden Kota hut.
We live near the wilderness area Muotkatunturi, which is like a “second living room” to us. Our place is tranquil; we cannot even see the lights of our nearest neighbour. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the snowy forest!
What’s included?
- guided snowshoe walk

We walk on paths and in the snow at a slow pace. Our route rises on a small hill nearby. You do not need any previous experience with snowshoes. The walk takes about 1½ hours. Please, see the video about correct winter clothing on our Activities site. For example your shoes need to be large enough, your socks should be non-cotton socks (at least two pairs) and you should wear many layers of clothing according to the prevailing weather conditions.
Children must be accompanied by a parent.
The transfer is not included. Please let us know if you need a transfer from the Inari village. The price is 15 € per person.
